Harley Samuel Pasternak is a Canadian-American personal trainer, motivational fitness speaker, author, and television host. He was born to Barbara Pasternak on August 6, 1974, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Pasternak is well known for his books The Body Reset Diet and The 5-Factor Diet. He has also worked with many celebrity clients as a personal trainer to Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Rihanna,  Katy Perry, Megan Fox, Robert Downey Jr., Robert Pattinson, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, etc.

As for his academics, Harley Pasternak holds a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Toronto. He is also certified by The American College of Sports Medicine and The Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. He has served as an exercise and nutrition scientist for Canada’s Department of National Defense.

Harley Pasternak Workout Routine

Pasternak suggests his clients follow a regular workout routine which has great effects on the body in a short time. Harley’s workouts break down to a simple formula;

  1. 5 minutes of cardio,
  2. 15 minutes of strength training, and
  3. 5 more minutes of cardio to cool down.

This 25 minutes of exercise has convinced many of his celeb clients. This exercise is believed to make your body sore; however you are either lying down or seated for the entire strength-training portion of the workout. Although this pain and soreness happens, the clients feel that they focus on muscle fatigue than general fatigue.

3. Disconnect from technology for one hour every day.

4. Eat a balance of fiber, protein, and healthy fats five times a day, and stay hydrated.

5. Five minutes of resistance training exercise every day.

Pasternak suggests readers foods that include low-fat, quality protein; moderate carbs; fiber and healthy fat; and drink sugar-free beverages (he allows one day a week to be a “cheat day”).
