What is Erectile Dysfunction?

Physical causes account for 90% of erectile dysfunction, with psychological causes severe less familiar.

Psychological causes

In rare cases, a man may always have had erectile dysfunction and may have attained an erection. However, this is known as primary erectile dysfunction, and the cause is more or less always psychological if there is no obvious anatomical deformity or physiological disorder. Such psychological factors may include:-

  • Fear of intimacy
  • Depression
  • Severe anxiety

Drug treatments

Men can use a group of drugs known as PDE-5 (phosphodiesterase-5) inhibitors.

Severe of these pills are taken 30 to 60 minutes before sex, the better known being the blue-colored pill sildenafil (Viagra). Other procedures are:-

  • Vardenafil (Levitra)
  • Tadalafil (used as a once-daily pill called Cialis)
  • Avanafil (Stendra)

PDE-5 inhibitors are only accessible for the prescription. A health consultant will examine for heart situations and ask about other medications being used before advising. Side-effects related to PDE-5 inhibitors include:-
